You know, I was going to comment and tell you to paint something traditionally last time, but looks like you beat me to it. Great job on the painting! I hope there'll be more soon to come. :)

Prilično dobra godina
Sretna vam Nova godina i svi blagdani koji su prošli ili će uskoro uslijediti. Ako niste primijetili, na mom je sketchblogu prigodna čestitka.
Uspjela sam pred sam kraj godine nacrtati sliku na platnu, što mi je bila želja dugo vremena: Samodovoljno srce. Više minimalistično nego moji drugi radovi, bilo ju je zabavno slikati.
Prošla godina je bula najbolja do sad za moju "karijeru", bilo je izložbi, nagrada (od kojih je jedna Sfera), ukrasila sam nekoliko naslovnica knjiga svojim slikama, upoznala zanimljive i kreativne ljude od kojih sam s nekima surađivala, započela vlastiti biznis s nekoliko prijatelja (o tome više nekom drugom prilikom)... Rekla bih da je dobrih stvari bilo puno više nego loših. Zadovoljna sam.
Nadam se da ste i vi imali prilično dobru godinu.

I am so glad to hear that you had such a good year and with such success, getting awards, sourcecoding professional websites, etc. I cannot claim so for myself, but neither was it a bad one. Mainly because I do not have the time, due to my work, to invest 'time' into professional source coding for money or such. But I plan to spend some time on learning how to draw - mainly due to you - you know. I love most of your drawings and they made me want to learn to draw. My friends gifted me with 'Learn to draw from the right' written by Betty Edwars. We'll see if it works...

@Leo: Thanks! Hehe I'm glad I finally did it, I kept a bunch of canvases and tools ready for months... but now that I broke the ice, I'm sure there'll be more ;)
@Aelyn: Thank you! :) I'm glad you think so, I'll surely keep practicing. I'd like to be able to paint traditionally, it's different when you can hold the canvas in your hands.
@Midnight: Thanks *hug* I know it must be hard when you have a job, I'm trying to balance college, freelancing and drawing for fun, and at times I think I can't go on like this... I can't wait to finish college so I can work in creative field full time.
I heard about the book, some say it's very good. You have no idea how much it means to me to hear someone has been inspired to start drawing because of my stuff, I'm so happy when people take up drawing, I hope you'll find much joy in doing it, in spite of beginning frustrations... I had plenty of them and still do sometimes, but the key is not to give up :)

Well, I liked what I read so far and saw. I only got it last week and read the first 40 pages in one go. It really is easy to read and has some sense of humor. I had to stop there, because I have to get some stuff (charcoal, glas, frame). I had not yet time to do so. I seem to have some latent talent for (digital) drawing at least, since I was able to draw wings (psd+graphic tablet) even before I got this book. So I have high hopes that this will work out in some way.
Yes I know college is hard. I finished university in 2006. But sadly my current work as trainee teachers is even harder and seldom leaves me enough time to follow ALL of my interest, or rather such of my interests which take a lot of time, such as source coding (for money). So I know exactly how you feel.
Btw, I love your website designs. I am not sure I could make ones that would look so professional. *hugs* So yes, you are an inspiration in every sense of the word.

I agree, you do have the talent, those wings look great. It will work out for sure if you practice, practice and practice.
I've got myself plenty of books in the past few months, and some progress is evident, but I really should be drawing more often.
